In the Parchment Craft area of the site we would like to show you some aspects of the hobby which we have both become involved with since we retired.

Parchment is a solid, semi-transparent material made from wood pulp in the same way as paper. However, it is very much more dense and changes to white when embossed using special tools. It also lends itself to painting and pencil colouring techniques to give a multitude of graphic effects. In addition various effects can be achieved by perforating the surface.
