Henry Frank (Harry) LARCOMBE was born about 1884 in Portsmouth, Hampshire. He emigrated on 19 Mar 1906 from Liverpool to St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada. He was a 22 year old grocer and he sailed on the Montrose. Initially he went out to Canada to work on the railway but also worked as a grocer.

Spouse: Lily Frances TAYLOR. Henry Frank (Harry) LARCOMBE and Lily Frances TAYLOR were married on 29 Jul 1907 in Port Arthur, Ontario, Canada. Henry Frank Larcombe was a 23 year old clerk from Portsmouth, son of Henry Larcombe and Alicia Ford and Lily Frances Taylor was 23, from Portsmouth and was the daughter of Herny Taylor and Frances Hayles. The witnesses were Leta Walker and Mary Walker of Port Arthur, Ontario.
Henry and Lily had three sons William Henry (1908), Leonard Frank (1913) and Kenneth Gordon (1921).

Willy Nina LAWLESS was born about 1866 in Parasnauth, Bengal, India. She was the daughter of Robert William Lawless (eldest son of Rev. George Lawless, MA; assistant surgeon of 23rd Regiment in charge at Parasnauth, Bengal, India) and Ellen M. Lawless (b.1841 Malta). Robert William died of fever at the sanitorium in Parasnauth on 18 August 1865, aged 23.
It appears that Robert William's father served in Malta from at least 1856 as we read "Malta: John LEONARD, Private, 51st Regiment, aged 31 years, buried 27th May 1856, by Reverend George Lawless C.F". This is probably where Robert and Ellen met.
She lived in 3 Cricket Field Road, Hackney, London in 1871. She and her mother, Ellen, lived with her mother's uncle Edward Tohrab (accountant; b. Malta) and his family. She lived in Royal School for Daughters of Officers, Landsdown Road, Charlcombe, Somerset in 1881. She was a scholar. She lived in 5 Eavaley Road, Streatham, London in 1891. NELLIE NINA and her mother lived with her mother's aunt Evelina Brand (widow; 66; b. Malta). In 1891 she was a Governess in Streatham, London.

Spouse: Trevor HAYLES. Trevor HAYLES and Willy Nina LAWLESS were married about 1899 in Croydon, Surrey. They lived in High Street, Rainham, Kent in 1901. Trevor and WILLIE lived with thir son, Trevor and a female domestic servant. Children were: Trevor George L. HAYLES.


Charles Frederick LAWMON was born about 1869 in Ashwell, Hertfordshire. He went to South Africa to fight with the British in the Boer War. He made Cape Town his home, married Sophia and had a son, Thomas Frederick in 1900 and never returned to the UK. Thomas Frederick had four children. His father Thomas Lawmon (b.1796 Sandon, Herts) was a Wheelwright and he had married Elizabeth Dearman (b.1802 Weston, Herts) and their seven children were all born in Weston - Thomas (b.1825; Wheelwright; m. Ann Smith; 5 children); Elizabeth (b.1826; Milliner); George (b.1829; Wheelwright;m. Elizabeth Dunn; 6 children); Mary Ann (1836-1901; bur. with brother Alfred in Weston Churchyard); Alfred (1838-1914; Wheelwright); Noah (1839; Wheelwright; m. Eliza Wallis and Frederick (1843). In 1871 he was a Wheelwright and Shopkeeper in Sandon, Hertfordshire. In 1881 he was a Wheelwright in Wallington, Hertfordshire. Between 1891 and 1901 he was a Wheelwright in Ashwell, Hertfordshire. He died about 1927 in Ashwell, Hertfordshire. He was buried in the Methodist Church Cemetery in Ashwell.

Norman was a collier who lived at 153 Preston Road, Standish and his father, Thomas Farrimond, was a collier. Both Phoebe and Norman signed the register and their witnesses were William Hepplestone (Phoebe's cousin) and Alice Layton.


Edith LEAL was born about 1876 in Swanmore, Ryde, Isle of Wight.

In 1871 John and Frances had a grandson Henry (1863) at home at 33 Manchester Street, Southampton. After John's death later that same year Frances and Henry continued to live together until Frances' death in 1873.
