They lived in Elm Leigh, Niton, Isle of Wight in 1881. Alfred and Jane lived with a nephew, John Hayles (13; b. Gatcombe). They lived in Niton Fields, Niton, Isle of Wight in 1891. Alfred and Jane lived alone.

Spouse: George Alexander ROBINSON. George Alexander ROBINSON and Jane Morris HAYLES were married on 26 May 1863 in St James' Church, East Cowes, Isle of Wight. As Jane worked at Osborne House she received an inscribed clock as a wedding present from the Royal Household. They lived in 10 Hardy Street, Habergham Eaves, Burnley, Lancashire in 1881. They lived in 7 Hattersley Street, Habergham Eaves, Burnley, Lancashire in 1891. They lived in 72 Chester Road, Southport, Lancashire in 1901. They lived in 50 Zetland Street, Southport, Lancashire in 1911. George Alexander was a 71 year old Army Pensioner and had been married for 48 years to Jane Morris. Jane was 67 and had had 13 live children of whom 7 were still alive. Their daughter, Alice Adelaide (25; single; upholsteress) lived with them as did a grandson, Alexander George Henry Ryder (3), who had been born in Zetland Street, Southport. The house had 5 rooms. Children were: John Jeremiah Michael Albert ROBINSON, William George ROBINSON, Alexander Henry W ROBINSON, Henry Charles (Harry) ROBINSON, Kathleen ROBINSON, Annie Elizabeth ROBINSON, Mary Jane (Theresa) ROBINSON, David ROBINSON, Alice Adelaide ROBINSON, Georgina Victoria (Gina) ROBINSON.

Spouse: James BISHOP. James BISHOP and Janet HAYLES were married on 2 Aug 1846 in Newchurch, Ryde, Isle of Wight. James was a whitesmith of Ryde whose father, Joseph Bishop, was a gardener. JENNETT lived in the parish of Ryde and her father, James Hayles, was a town carrier. Their witnesses were William and Jane Escott. This couple were presumably friends as they lived in Brunswick Street, Newchurch and were the grocers. They lived in Upperfield Place, Carisbrooke, Isle of Wight in 1851. James and Janetta lived with their sons Oscar and James and a lodger, Alfred H. Hayles (b.1821 Carisbrooke), a journeyman smith. This may have been Alfred HALE b.1822 Carisbrooke. Children were: James Albert Oscar (Oscar) BISHOP, Ann Jane BISHOP, James Edward BISHOP, George Henry BISHOP, Janet Jane BISHOP, William BISHOP.

Spouse: Jane MORRIS. Jeremiah HAYLES and Jane MORRIS were married on 30 Dec 1826 in Whippingham, Isle of Wight. The Banns were read on the 10th, 17th and 24th December 1826. Jeremiah signed his name on the Register although he spelt it Jeremah. Jane Morris left her mark as did the two witnesses Edward Hayles and Charlotte Guttridge. The officiating Minister was Reverend J. D. Ward.
The Curious Question of Charlotte Gutteridge….. There is a question as to the identity of Charlotte Gutteridge. Usually close relatives or friends witnessed marriages and it is probable that Edward Hayles was Jeremiah's father and that Charlotte Guttridge was a relative of Jeremiah and the same Charlotte Hailes/Hayles who had married Isaac Guttridge on 30 March 1817 in Arreton. (No birth record has been found for Charlotte Hayles b.1795-1797 - see census 1851 and death 1855. The only records around this time - although rather later - are for Charlotte Hayles c.21 November 1802 in Arreton to John and Catherine Hayles and Charlotte Maria Hayles c. 26 March 1802 in Cowes. Other ladies with these names and dates of birth have been tracked through the censuses. It is much more probable that Charlotte was an elder sister of Jeremiah. Jeremiah's father, Edward, received a Poor Law payment for his wife's lying in on 17 October 1795 in Arreton and this could have been for Charlotte's birth. More research is needed.) Certainly Isaac Gutteridge and Charlotte lived in Littletown in 1817 as that is where their daughter, Jane Gutteridge, said that she was born (see 1851 census details below). No other record has yet been found of her birth and it appears that she was the only surviving child of the marriage. In 1841 Isaac GUTRIDGE (55; agricultural labourer) and Charlotte (45) lived in Paxfield. (Exact ages are not given in this census. Paxfield/Packsfield and Littletown are very close and in the parish of Arreton.) Their daughter Jane GUTRIDGE, had married William Rayner on 22 November 1838 at St. George's Church, Arreton. She was a spinster of full age from Littletown whose father, Isaac, was a labourer. He was a bachelor of full age and was a labourer of Binstead whose father James Rayner. William was born in 1812 in Binstead and his parents were actually James Rayner (b.1776) and Elizabeth Corban who had married in 1797 in Wootton. William Rayner and Jane had the following children:- William (1837), (Male 1839), Sarah (1840), George (1841), Charlotte Elizabeth (1843), John (1845), Charles (1846), Jane (1849), Isaac (1850), Edith (1853) and Mary Ann (aka Pollie1858). In 1841 William (painter) and Jane lived at Carnation Cottage, Newchurch with their children William and Sarah. In 1851 William (stone digger) and Jane (b.1817 Littletown) lived in Binstead with their children Sarah, George, Charlotte, John, Charles, Jane and Isaac and Jane's widowed mother Charlotte GUTTRIDGE (56 bDores Hill; so b.1795; pauper). In 1855 Charlotte GUTTERIDGE died aged 58 (so b.1797).
In 1861 William (agricultural labourer) and Jane still lived in Binstead with John (bricklayer's labourer), Jane, Isaac, Edith and Mary Ann. In 1871 William (labourer) and Jane lived in Havenstreet with Isaac (gardener) and Mary. In 1881 William (gardener not domestic) and Jane still lived in Havenstreet with Charlotte Rayner (daughter; married; b.1843). In 1885 Jane died aged 69.
In 1890 William died aged 78.
Now back to Jeremiah... They lived in Shamblers, East Cowes, Isle of Wight between 1831 and 1841. They lived in Castle Street, East Cowes, Isle of Wight in 1851. They lived in 24 Clarence Road, East Cowes, Isle of Wight between 1861 and 1871. They lived in 112 Clarence Road, East Cowes, Isle of Wight in 1881. Children were: John HAYLES, Emily HAYLES, Charles HAYLES, William Morris HAYLES, Jane Morris HAYLES.

Spouse: George Henry Thomas SYLVESTER. George Henry Thomas SYLVESTER and Jessie HAYLES were married about 1899 in Holy Cross, Binstead, Isle of Wight. They lived in 2 Union Road, Ryde, Isle of Wight in 1901. George SILVESTER, Jessie and Victoria lived together. Children were: Victoria Jessie SILVESTER.

In 1901 they still lived at number 42 and John and Fanny lived with William, Ernest and Arthur (all these sons have no occupation listed) and George.
