In 1851 Samuel (51; farmer of 48 acres) and Amelia (51) lived with their children Charles (23; farmer's son) and Elihu (21 farmer's son and stone delver) and three grandchildren Bridget (16; (b.1834 Ingbirchworth), James (b.1836 Ingbirchworth) and Sarah Ann (b.1844 Wakefield).
By 1861 Elihu still lived with his parents and they also had three grandchildren - James, Robert (b.1846 Wakefield) and Amelia (b.1852 Denby).
Their son Charles lived nearby and worked as a stone quarry man employing 10 men. He had married Emma Sophie Burton in 1852 in Huddersfield and they had three children George H. (b.1854 Huddersfield), Esther (b.1856 Denby) and Amelia (b. 1857 Idle, Bradford). The family grew with the addition of Burton in 1865 but Charles stayed at Delph House, Denby Common until at least 1891 when he was a retired farmer and stone merchant. His daughter Amelia was a governess. Next door at Delph House lived his son Burton and his wife Sarah Ann and their children Gertrude (1886), Bernard (1887) and Mary Margaret (b.15 April 1889 c.11 June 1889 Denby).
Charles Rusby was buried at Denby on 24 March 1897.
