92. Moses WALSHAW was born about 1818 in Hoylandswaine, Yorkshire. In 1841 he was a Fancy Weaver in Upper Cumberworth, Yorkshire. In 1851 he was a Hand Loom Weaver in Ingbirchworth, Yorkshire. In 1861 he was a Cotton and Worsted Weaver. In 1871 he was a Farm Labourer in Ingbirchworth, Yorkshire. On 4 March 1876 the Barnsley Chronicle reported
"Drunk and Pemitting Drunkenness on Licensed Premises:- Moses Walshaw, a labourer, was brought up on the charge of being drunk on licensed premises, in the occupation of George Taylor, the George Inn, Denby. PC Stewart said he visited the George Inn at Denby and found the defendant sitting on a chair making a great noise. He called the landlady's attention to the man but she took no notice of it and went on filling beer and taking it into the room. A short time afterwards the defendant left the house in a state of drunkenness, wanting to fight any man in Denby. On being asked where he had been he replied he had been "drinking with Old Salt all day with Nancy". Fined 5s and costs, in all 17s 6d. George Taylor, the landlord, was charged with permitting drunkenness on his premises and was fined 20s and costs."
(Nancy was the landlady and George Taylor's wife.) In 1881 he was a General Labourer in Ingbirchworth, Yorkshire. He died of a weak heart from senile degeneration (12 months) on 19 Jan 1897 in Ingbirchworth, Yorkshire. He was buried on 23 Jan 1897 in Denby, Yorkshire. He was described as having a big red beard.

Moses WALSHAW and Mary BILTCLIFFE were married on 29 Dec 1842 in St. John's Church, Penistone, Yorkshire. Mary BILTCLIFFE (daughter of George BILTCLIFFE and Sarah HARDCASTLE) was born about 1815 in Shepley, Yorkshire. Mary was the eldest of the fourteen children of George and Sarah Biltcliffe. Her siblings were: John (1816), James (1818), Levi (1820), Cyrus (1821), Hannah (1823), William (1823), Anne (1826), Jane (1827), Harriet (1829), Martha (1832), Eliza (1833), Alice (1835) and Henry Hardcastle (1837). She died of bronchitis (5 weeks) and weak heart on 7 Dec 1896 in Ingbirchworth, Yorkshire. She was buried on 10 Dec 1896 in Denby, Yorkshire. Moses WALSHAW and Mary BILTCLIFFE had the following children:

Hannah WALSHAW was born about 1845 in Cumberworth, Yorkshire. She died of scarlet Fever on 16 Jun 1849 in Ingbirchworth, Yorkshire. She was buried on 19 Jun 1849 in St. Nicholas' Church, Cumberworth, Yorkshire.

Elizabeth WALSHAW was born about 1848 in Ingbirchworth, Yorkshire. In 1861 she was a General Servant at Jubb's Farm. It was a farm of 25 acres and included a Blacksmiths in High Flatts, Yorkshire. In 1861, she worked with her brother Benjamin at Jubb's Fam. In 1881 she was a General Domestic Servant in Denby, Yorkshire. In 1901 she was a Charlady in Birdsedge, Yorkshire. Elizabeth remained single and in 1901 she lived with her niece Beatrice.

Sarah WALSHAW was born on 3 Jan 1851 in Ingbirchworth, Yorkshire. In Mar 1886 she was a Domestic Servant in Ingbirchworth, Yorkshire. She died of morbus brightii and uroemia on 14 Apr 1886 in Ingbirchworth, Yorkshire. She was buried on 18 Apr 1886 in Denby, Yorkshire.
