46. John BEAUMONT was born on 12 Aug 1771 in Hoylandswaine, Yorkshire. It is likely that he was the son of John Walshaw. He received a bequest in Joseph Walshaw's will in 1793. He was to receive £10 at the death of his grandfather's grandma Sarah Beaumont and £10 on the death of his father John. He died on 12 Nov 1828 in Silkstone, Yorkshire. He was also known as John Walshaw. He changed his name in 1828 just before he made his Will and died. He was a Farmer in West Thorpe, Hoylandswaine, Yorkshire.

John BEAUMONT and Ann BERRY were married on 14 Nov 1803 in Silkstone Church, Silkstone, Yorkshire. John was married as John Beaumont and was recorded as a clothier.
The Parish Register at the time of most his children's baptisms shows John's address as West Thorpe, which is a farmhouse near Hoylandswaine. It is in the Parish of Silkstone although closer to Penistone. At some point John decided to change his surname and that of his children from Beaumont to Walshaw. John made his Will, and was buried, as John Walshaw. Most of the children were married as Walshaw.
John's Will mentions his children but not his wife and so it is probable that Sarah pre-deceased him. The three youngest children by his second wife were left in the care of his son Job who lived and worked on the farm.
Ann BERRY was christened on 14 Apr 1775 in St. John's Church, Denby, Yorkshire. Her father was John Berry and her mother was Sarah Mellor.
