211. Edward WALSHAW
was born on 25 Jan 1853 in Ingbirchworth, Yorkshire. Edward was actually
registered as Edmund but was never known by this name. Perhaps the Registrar
misunderstood Moses (who may have had a cold!!!!) In 1871 he was a Labourer
in the Steel Works in Penistone, Yorkshire. In 1876 he was a Forge
Man in Penistone, Yorkshire. Between 1881 and 1891 he was a Labourer
in the Steel Works in Penistone, Yorkshire. In 1901 he was a Labourer
in a Timber Yard in Penistone, Yorkshire. He was buried about 1923
in Denby, Yorkshire. Edward, Ann and their children Clara, Mary
Ethel and Fred were recorded on the same head stone. He died of mitral valvular
disease (4 years) and myocardial degeneration (8 months) on 7 Nov 1923 in Ingbirchworth,
Yorkshire. Edward WALSHAW and Ann TAYLOR were married on 16 Sep
1876 in Denby, Yorkshire. They lived in Ingbirchworth, Yorkshire
in 1911. Edward (58; labourer in steel works) had been married for
34 years to Ann (53; 7 live births; 5 children still living) and they lived ina
4 roomed house with their son Ernest (31; labourer in steel works), thier son
Biltcliffe (25; worsted spinning overlooker) and their daughter Clara (34; worsted
twister). Ann TAYLOR (daughter of John Thorpe TAYLOR
and Clara MORTON) was born on 8 Apr 1857 in Denby, Yorkshire. She
died of cerebral thrombosis (according to family sources she fell down stairs)
on 1 Jun 1937 in Ingbirchworth, Yorkshire. She was buried about 1937
in Denby, Yorkshire. Edward, Ann and their children Clara, Mary
Ethel and Fred were recorded on the same head stone. After Edward's death, Ann
went to live with her son Bint and she loved her long walks around the area.
She was well known for carrying her beaded dorothy bag with her from which she
would sometimes produce a shiny penny for her grandchildren. She often visited
Denby Churchyard where the grave of Edward, Clara, Fred and Mary Ethel was and
the separate grave of her son Ernest. Edward WALSHAW and Ann TAYLOR had the

St. John the Evangelist Church, Denby, Yorkshire. In 1891 she was
a Woollen Spinner. In 1901 she was a Cotton Spinner.
In 1911 she was a Worsted Twister. She was buried about 1919 in Denby,
Yorkshire. Edward, Ann and their children Clara, Mary Ethel and
Fred were recorded on the same head stone. She died on 24 Nov 1919 in Ingbirchworth,
