9. Alfred SCHOFIELD was born on 9 Oct 1832 in Marple, Cheshire. He was christened on 18 Feb 1835 in Mill Brow, Cheshire. In 1841 he was a Cotton Spinner in Marple, Cheshire. Between 1851 and 1861 he was a Cabinet Maker in Marple, Cheshire. He was buried on 9 Aug 1913 in All Saints Church, Marple, Cheshire. He died in Aug 1913 in Marple, Cheshire.

Alfred SCHOFIELD and Ann CROOK were married about 1862 in Ormskirk, Lancashire. They lived in Queen Street, Marple, Cheshire in 1881. Ann CROOK was born about 1834 in Stroud. Gloucestershire. In 1851 she was a Factory Hand for William Malmsley in Marple, Cheshire. Ann was classed as one of the 32 female servants of William Malmsley who lived together at Hollins Fold. There were also 46 male servants who were also Factory Hands living at Hillins Fold. These factory hands were ex-workhouse children. In 1861 she was a Cotton Winder in Marple, Cheshire. She lived in Norbury Smithy, Marple, Cheshire in 1861. She was a lodger with Betty Bowden and her family. Ann's younger siblings, Francis (b.1838 Stroud; Cotton Spinner) and Mary (b.1840 Stroud; Factory Operative) also lived with her. In 1851 they had both been in the Stroud District Workhouse and their place of birth had been noted as Disley. In 1871 she was a Cotton Operative in Marple, Cheshire. In 1881 she was a Cotton Winder in Marple, Cheshire. She died in Sep 1892 in Marple, Cheshire. She was buried on 17 Sep 1892 in All Saints Church, Marple, Cheshire. Samuel SCHOFIELD was born about 1862 in Marple, Cheshire. He lived in Canal Buildings, Marple, Cheshire in 1871. He lived with his grandmother Mary (nee Unwin), his uncle Thomas Allen and his mother Ann.
