Henry George TANNER was christened on 21 Apr 1819 in Ringwood,
Hampshire. He was born about 1819 in Burley, Hampshire.
In 1841 he was an Agricultural Labourer in Burley, Hampshire. He
lived at home and his occupation was not noted by the enumerator who only noted
the occupation of the head of the household. Between 1847 and 1850 he was a
Bailiff in Crow, Ringwood, Hampshire. In 1851 he was an Agricultural
Labourer in Crow, Ringwood, Hampshire. In 1852 he was a Farm Bailiff
in Ringwood, Hampshire. In 1855 he was an Innkeeper and Carrier at
the Rose Inn in Sway, Boldre, Hampshire. Between 1858 and 1861 he
was an Innkeeper in the Rose Inn, Sway, Boldre, Hampshire. In 1862
he was a Husbandman in Bowling Green, Sway, Boldre, Hampshire. In
1873 he was a Farmer in Sway, Boldre, Hampshire. He died of consumption
on 2 Sep 1878 in Sway, Boldre, Hampshire. Henry's death certificate
is much altered. Henry George Tanner. a retired innkeeper, was 59 and he died
of consumption (certified). The death was registered by his son Albert Tanner
of Sway, Boldre on 3 September. There seems to have been a problem with Henry's
first name. On 4 September a "clerical error" was corrected (Henry
George Henry was changed to Henry George, and the record was signed by his son.
On 24 September "for Henry George read Henry" was added after a statutory
declaration made by Albert Tanner and Louisa Tanner. He was buried in St Luke's
Church, Sway, Boldre, Hampshire. Henry George TANNER and Louisa
BROWN were married on 24 Jun 1847 in Burley, Hampshire. Henry Tanner
was a bachelor of full age. He was a bailiff of Crow whose father, Moses Tanner
was a labourer. Louisa Brown was a spinster of full age of Shobley whose father,
William Brown, was a labourer. Both signes the register as did their witnesses
William Henstredge, Elizabeth Tanner and Maria Ellis. They lived in Crow, Ringwood,
Hampshire in 1851. Henry and Louisa lived by the London and South-West
Railway next door to the Gatekeeper for the railway. They had two children Jane
and Frederick. They lived in the Rose Inn, Sway, Boldre, Hampshire in 1861.
Henry and Louisa lived with their children Mary Jane, Frederick, Albert and
Austin. They lived in Saints' Farm, Bowling Green, Boldre, Hampshire in 1871.
Henry and Louisa DANNER lived with their children Mary Jane, Frederick, Albert,
Austin, Olive Maria and Henry G.
Louisa BROWN
(daughter of William BROWN and Jane KING) was born about 1826 in Ringwood, Hampshire.
She lived in Shobley, Hampshire in 1847. In 1881 she was a widow
living on income derived from houses in Rose Lane, Sway, Boldre, Hampshire.
She lived in Rose Lane, Sway, Boldre, Hampshire in 1881. She was
a widow and lived with her children Albert and Olive and a male farm servant.
She died of bronchitis and cardiac failure on 19 Feb 1901 in 4 Southampton Buildings,
Lymington, Hampshire. She was buried in Lymington, Hampshire.
