45. Ann (Annie) SILVERWOOD was born in Jul 1844 in Upperthong, Yorkshire. In 1861 she was a Cotton Carder in Saddleworth, Yorkshire. She emigrated on 31 Mar 1892 from Liverpool to Boston. She went with Minerva (17), James H. (11), Joseph W. (8), Mary H. (6) and Ernest (infant) on board the "Cephalonia" (the same ship and the same master that had carried her husband and eldest son the previous year. She lived in 77 Eastern Avenue, Fall River, Boston, Massachusetts, USA in 1910. She was a widow and she had all her children at home apart from Amelia and James. She lived in 185 Eastern Avenue, Fall River, Boston, Massachusetts, USA in 1920. She lived with John, Minerva and Mary.

Ann (Annie) SILVERWOOD and Walter RADCLIFFE were married about 1868 in Saddleworth, Yorkshire. They lived in Roughtown, Saddleworth, Yorkshire between 1871 and 1881. In 1871 the family was enumerated as RADLIFFE. Walter and Ann lived with their children Amelia and John. In 1881 there was also Minerva and James. In Mar 1891 he was a Painter in Saddleworth, Yorkshire. He emigrated on 21 May 1891 from Liverpool to Boston. He travelled with his son, John C. Radcliffe on board the "Cephalonia". He was listed as a labourer aged 40 and John C. was aged 20. The journey took 37 days and the master was Seccombe. It appears that they went out to prepare the way for the rest of the family. In 1891 he was a Painter in Saddleworth, Yorkshire. Between 1900 and 1920 he was a Painter in Fall River, Massachusetts, USA. He lived in 217 Eastern Avenue, Fall River, Boston, Massachusetts, USA in 1930. He lived at a house worth 5400 dollars with his wife Jane (aged 56) and his sister mary Hannah who was a winder in the cotton mill. He was a painter.

He lived in 136 Chandler Street, Suffolk, Massachusetts in 1910. he was a lodger and worked as an electrician. He lived in 241 Back Street, Revere, Suffolk, Massachusetts in 1920. He had been naturalised in 1902 and was a retail salesman of batteries. His wife Mary was 32 and had been born in Canada. They had a son, Walter aged 1 year 10 months. He lived in 12 Street, Malden, Middlesex, Massachusetts in 1930. He lived in a house worth 3500 dollars and still worked in a battery store. Mary now stated that she had been born in Maine and Walter was 11.

Joseph William (Joe) RADCLIFFE was born in Mar 1882 in Saddleworth, Yorkshire. Between 1900 and 1910 he was a Reed Maker in a Reed Mill in Fall River, Massachusetts, USA. He was good with his hands and made woodden toys for his family in England. He lived in 41 Commercial Street, Lynn, Essex, Massachusetts, USA in 1920. He was a lodger. He had been naturalised in 1906 and worked as an electrical worker. He lived in 39 Commercial Street, Lynn, Essex, Massachusetts, in 1930. He was a "roomer"/boarder and worked as an electrician.

Ernest Percival RADCLIFFE was born in Jul 1889 in Saddleworth, Yorkshire. In 1910 he was a Lithographer in a Print Works in Fall River, Massachusetts, USA. Ernest married Bertha (b.1895 Massachusetts) and in 1920 he worked as a machinist. They lived at 346 South Common Street, Lynn, Essex, Massachusetts and had a son, Russell E. (b.1919).
By 1930 he lived at 123 Pleasant River Street, Boston, Massachusetts and was married but no job. In the Robeson Street Children's home in Fall River were Russell (aged 12), Mabel (aged 9) and Geraldine (aged 6). Presumably his wife had died.
