2. John ROBINSON was christened on 8 Mar 1813 in St Michael's Church, Limerick, Limerick, Ireland. He was born about 1813 in Limerick, Limerick, Ireland. In 1844 he was a Policeman in the County Limerick Police in Doon, Limerick, Ireland. He died on 7 Nov 1854 in Doon, Limerick, Ireland. At his death, he was noted as being a 'Pensioner of the Constabulary'. He was buried on 8 Nov 1854 in Doon, Limerick, Ireland.
John ROBINSON and Johanna CURTAIN
were married on 13 Feb 1836 in Limerick, Limerick, Ireland. Johanna
CURTAIN was born about 1815 in Limerick, Limerick, Ireland. She
emigrated on 22 Jul 1865 from London to Auckland, New Zealand. The
family sailed from London on the 22nd July 1865 on the Aliquis (1121 tons, Captain
John Davidson) with 125 passengers on board. It arrived in Auckland ninety one
days later on 25 October 1865. The Surgeon was Mr. Foster. The Auckland area
passenger arrivals record Johanna, Jane, William, Caroline, David and Henry.
They settled in Thames and then moved to Auckland. She died about 1875 in Auckland,
New Zealand. She was buried with her grandson, Henry Gisborne Robinson
(the son of Henry William). Johanna was a Roman Catholic but her husband was
a Protestant. All her daughters were brought up in the Catholic church but her
sons were brought up in the Church of England. After her husband's death she
went to New Zealand with all her children except John (who went to America) and
George Alexander (who was in the army). All the rest of her sons became Roman
Catholic in New Zealand and married in Roman Catholic churches and raised their
children in the Catholic faith. John ROBINSON and Johanna CURTAIN had the following
