Joan OWERS was born on 8 Mar 1925 in the Northwick Hotel,
Evesham, Worcestershire. She had virtually nothing to do with Ray's
family after her widowed mother had moved from York to Heversham Road, Bexleyheath
to live close to Ray. Joan apparently spent a lot of her time working for the
Girl Guides and was understood to have become a Guide Commissioner.
