William OWERS and Sarah Ann ANDREWS were married on 6 Jul 1845 in South Weald, Essex. She was a widow aged 31 at the time of her marriage. (Was there a connection with her future mother-in-law as her maiden name was Bloomfield?)
She had first married a labourer, Stephen Andrews (b.1810; parents John Andrews (b.1783 South Weald; d. 1840 Brentwood) and Frances Braybrook (b.1783)). Stephen and Sarah had had five children:- Elijah (b.1832 Shenfield and christened 10 March 1832 Great Leighs; m. Ann Cole; 12 children), Charles (1832-1837), Sarah (1839), Ruth (1839) and Stephen. In 1841 Stephen, Sarah, Elijah and the twins Sarah and Ruth lived at Emblins, Doddinghurst, Essex. Stephen was a labourer and they lived with a widowed farmer, Sarah Littlechild, and her six children. Close by lived John Bloomfield, a farmer and his wife Alice and children William (20; ag. lab) and Mary (15). Was this Sarah's parents? Stephen died in about 1845 in St George's Hanover Square, London and Sarah remarried soon after. They lived in Canterbury Farm, Shenfield, Essex in 1851. The surname was recorded as Ourse. They lived in Sawyers Hall Lane, Shenfield, Essex in 1861. They lived in 13 Black Huts, Warley Common, Shenfield, Essex in 1871. Sarah Ann ANDREWS (daughter of William BLOOMFIELD) was born about 1819 in High Ongar, Essex. She died on 1 Jan 1872 in Great Warley, Essex.
