to view a picture of the person7. Sarah JINKS was born about 1832 in Marple, Cheshire. Sarah married William Suthers (b.1835 Todmorden, Yorkshire) in 1860 in Ashton-under-Lyne. He was a bobbin turner at the time of his marriage but from 1868 to 1874 he and Sarah were co-licensees of the Trafalgar Inn. After his death in 1877 in Ashton Union Workhouse of "acute softening of the brain" she was the beerhouse keeper. She died of rheumatic pericarditis in Ashton in 1885. Sarah and William had four children (all in Ashton-Under-Lyne) - Clara (1861-1861), Ada Jinks (1862), Edmund (1864), Bertha A (1870).
