Ruth was a widow and had her two daughters Mary Hannah and Martha Ann at home with her as well as two lodgers. She died about 1896 in Marple, Cheshire. She was buried on 2 Nov 1896 in All Saints Church, Marple, Cheshire.

Ruth JINKS and John DERBYSHIRE were married about 1856 in St Mary's, Stockport, Cheshire. They lived in Queen Street, Marple, Cheshire in 1861. John and Ruth lived three doors away from his aunt Jane Vernon and his sisters Jane Ann and Mary Hannah Derbyshire. They lived in Lime Kilns, Marple, Cheshire between 1871 and 1881. In 1861 he was a Labourer in Marple, Cheshire. In 1871 he was a Manager of Mineral Works in Marple, Cheshire. Between 1871 and 1876 the Lime Kilns were taken over by brothers Jesse and Wright Tymm. They also owned coal pits in both Marple and Mellor. Presumably John lost his job as the Manager of the Lime Kilns at this time when the new owners arrived. In 1881 he was a Coal Merchant's Labourer in Marple, Cheshire. Between 1881 and 1886 he was a House Painter in Marple, Cheshire. He was buried on 9 Apr 1888 in All Saints Church, Marple, Cheshire.
