76. Jane HEPPLESTONE was born about 1877 in Silkstone, Yorkshire. She lived in Crane Moor Bottom, Thurgoland, Yorkshire in 1891. In 1891, Jane was recorded as being a niece in the home of Matthew (b1851, Lincolnshire) and Grace (b1849, Silkstone, née Dunstan) Peck and family. Matthew was a Farm Servant. Grace's sister Sarah Ann looked after Jane's mother at the time of her half-sister's birth. Matthew and Grace already had eight children of their own but they took in Jane instead of letting her go into the Workhouse after her father's death.

Jane HEPPLESTONE and John WOOD were married about 1899 in Wigan, Lancashire. Jane probably met her husband-to-be in Whelley because the Wood family lived two doors away from the Station House where Thomas Hart and his family lived and where her mother had given birth to Catherine. John WOOD was born about 1872 in Wigan, Lancashire. In 1891 he was an Unemployed Clerk in Whelley, Wigan, Lancashire. He lived in 165 Whelley, Wigan, Lancashire in 1891.
