74. Joseph HEPPLESTONE was born on 28 Mar 1874 in Coates, Thurgoland, Yorkshire. He lived in 3 Chapel Yard, Silkstone, Yorkshire in 1891. Joseph lodged with his uncle Walter rather than going into the Workhouse. In 1901 he was a Coal Hewer in Silkstone, Yorkshire. He lodged with his sister Norah at the Whittaker's household. This was his mother's brother's family.
Joseph HEPPLESTONE and Mary LEADER were married about 1903 in Sheffield, Yorkshire. Joseph and Mary had at least one daughter, who they called Phoebe. She was born in about 1915. On 7 August 1937 Phoebe, a 25 year old spinster, married Norman Farrimond, a 24 year old bachelor at the parish church in Shevington, Lancashire after Banns. She was a silk winder who lived at 29 Broad o'th' Lane, Shevington, Lancashire. Her father was Joseph Hepplestone, a collier. Norman was a collier who lived at 153 Preston Road, Standish and his father, Thomas Farrimond, was a collier. Both Phoebe and Norman signed the register and their witnesses were William Hepplestone (Phoebe's cousin) and Alice Layton.
