She was brought up with the surname Hepplestone but married under her birth name of Clarkson. She was also known as Susannah Hepplestone in 1861. She lived in 3 High Street, Dodworth, Yorkshire in 1891. She died of phthisis (TB) on 18 Jul 1891 in 3 High Street, Dodworth, Yorkshire. In 1891, Susannah was a widow and was ill.
