2. George HEPPLESTONE was born about 1799 in Hoylandswaine, Yorkshire. He was christened on 20 Oct 1799 in Silkstone Church, Silkstone, Yorkshire. Between 1841 and 1851 he was a Master Nailmaker in Huddersfield, Yorkshire. In 1851 he was also recorded as a Beerseller. In Apr 1849 he was in Huddersfield, Yorkshire. In Nov 1849 he was a Beerseller in Huddersfield, Yorkshire. He died on 15 Jul 1852 in Huddersfield, Yorkshire.

George HEPPLESTONE and Sarah UNKNOWN lived in Manchester Street, Huddersfield, Yorkshire between 1841 and 1851. In 1841 George's wife, Sarah, and son William were recorded as being born outside Yorkshire. They had a female servant called Mary Hepplestone (b. 1825). The family was recorded as Heppenstall in 1841 and Hepponstall in 1851. They were married. Sarah UNKNOWN was born about 1803 in Derbyshire. She lived in 37 Manchester Street, Huddersfield, Yorkshire in 1861. She was the Head of the Household and living with her were George, Thomas, Henry, Mary and her husband John Gibson and their three children and also three lodgers - twelve people in all. This must have been a tenement or house in mutiple occupancy as her son William and his wife and a lodger were enumerated next at the same address. She lived in 26 Duke Street, Huddersfield, Yorkshire between 1871 and 1881. Sarah was now a widow for the second time. She had married a Clothier James Newsome (b1813 Dewsbury) in 1864 but he had died in 1870. She was emumerated as Sarah Newsome. In her household were Tom (married but no wife present), George, Henry, Hannah and an adopted daughter Mary Manning (b 1852 Huddersfield) who was a Paper Bag Maker. There also was one lodger. Was this the Mary (daughter of Irish Hawkers Matthew and Catharine Manning) who had lived at 17 Manchester Street in 1861? By 1881 Sarah had reverted to the surname Heppenstall and her widowed son, George, and married daughter Mary Maud Heppenstall (b1853 Huddersfield), a Woollen Warehouse Woman and one lodger lived with her. Was this Mary Maud who had been her adopted daughter in 1871? In 1871 she was a House Keeper in Huddersfield, Yorkshire. George HEPPLESTONE and Sarah UNKNOWN had the following children:
