In 1891, Kate's mother Mary Lockwood was living with the family on her own means. Joseph Benjamin Lockwood was a relative and a nine year old Scholar. (He was Kate's nephew as he was Hannah's son) Also boarding with the family was Robert Marshall who was recorded as 'S'. Did the Enumerator doubt that he was single? They lived in Kine Moor, Silkstone, Yorkshire in 1901. In 1901, Norah Hepplestone (b1882, Wigan) was boarding with the family as was her brother Joseph. Apparently Kate was known as a "bit of a dragon" and Norah was sometimes unhappy there and even hungry. Joseph WHITTAKER was born about 1867 in Silkstone, Yorkshire. Joseph was one of seven children born to William Whittaker (b1825, d1889), a Colliery Fireman, and Phoebe Dunstan (b1831, m1850, d1890). The family lived in Silkstone from at least 1851. Mary Ann was the third eldest and she married William Hepplestone (b1847) whilst her youngest brother, Joseph (b1867), married Kate Hepplestone (AKA Lockwood), William's youngest sister. In 1891 he was a Coal Miner in Silkstone, Yorkshire. In 1901 he was a Coal Hewer in Silkstone, Yorkshire. Kate HEPPLESTONE and Joseph WHITTAKER had the following children:
