9. Benjamin HAYLES was born on 16 Oct 1798 in Arreton, Isle of Wight. He was christened on 1 Jan 1799 in Arreton, Isle of Wight. In 1841 he was a Bookseller in Newport, Isle of Wight. Between 1851 and 1861 he was a Peripatetic Bookseller.

Benjamin HAYLES and Ann MILLS were married on 24 Aug 1821 in Carisbrooke, Isle of Wight. They lived in Deadman's Lane, Newport, Isle of Wight between 1841 and 1861. In 1841 Benjamin and Ann lived with their children Mary, Alfred and Ellen. In 1851 Benjamin was on business and Ann, Ellen, Catherine and Clara lived together. In 1861 Ann, Ellen, Clara and a granddaughter Rosa Ann Hayles (b.1857 Newport) lived together. Ann MILLS was born about 1811 in Ipswich, Suffolk. Benjamin HAYLES and Ann MILLS had the following children:
