1. Joseph HAYLES was born on 22 Jul 1822 in Newport,
Isle of Wight. He was christened on 25 Feb 1823 in St. James Street
Independent, Newport, Isle of Wight. In 1851 he was a Porter in Newport,
Isle of Wight. Between 1861 and 1881 he was a Groom in Newport, Isle
of Wight. He died of Cancer of Pylorus (2 years) on 10 Mar 1883 in
132 Pyle Street, Newport, Isle of Wight. His death was registered
on 12 March 1883 by William Hayles, son of the deceased, of 132 Pyle Street,
Newport, present at the death. Joseph was a groom aged 60. Joseph HAYLES and
Frances PAUL were married on 26 Feb 1843 in St. Mary's Church, Carisbrooke, Isle
of Wight. Joseph was a bachelor of full age of Carisbrooke Road,
Carisbrooke. He was a servant and his father was James Hayles, a painter. Joseph
marked the register with his cross. Frances was a spinster of full age of Carisbrooke
Road, Carisbrooke whose father was James Paul, a labourer. She marked the register
with her cross. They married after Banns. The witnesses were Alexander Hayden
and John Harvey. They lived in Lugley Street, Newport, Isle of Wight in 1851.
Joseph and Frances lived with their children Joseph, Eliza, James and Henry
and Joseph's sister Ellen (aged 14). Frances PAUL
was born about 1821 in Newport, Isle of Wight. She died of Phthisis
pulmonary haemorrage (5 days) on 27 May 1855 in Newport, Isle of Wight.
Her death was registered on 28 May 1855 by Mary Hayles of Pyle Street, Newport,
present at the death. Frances was 33 and the wife of Joseph Hayles, an ostler.
Joseph HAYLES and Frances PAUL had the following children:
Joseph HAYLES and Emma Sarah ADAMS were married
about 1856 in St. Mary's Church, Carisbrooke, Isle of Wight. They
lived in Pyle Street, Newport, Isle of Wight between 1861 and 1881.
In 1861 Joseph and Emma lived with his children Joseph, James, Henry and Elizabeth
and their son William and a lodger. In 1871 they lived with his children Joseph
and Henry and their children William, George, Alice and Caroline. In 1881 they
lived with their four children. Emma Sarah ADAMS
was born about 1831 in Carisbrooke, Isle of Wight. She was christened
on 7 Aug 1831 in Carisbrooke, Isle of Wight. Only a mother's name
was noted, Eliza Adams. She died about 1889 in Newport, Isle of Wight.
