8. Henry HAYLES was christened on 8 Jun 1834 in Newchurch, Ryde, Isle of Wight. He was born about 1834 in Newchurch, Ryde, Isle of Wight. In 1851 he was a Farm Servant for Henry Searle in Gt. Guilford Farm, Arreton, Isle of Wight. In 1871 he was a Farm Labourer in Newchurch, Ryde, Isle of Wight. In 1881 he was an Agricultural Labourer in Apse Heath, Isle of Wight. In 1891 he was an Agricultural Labourer in Shanklin, Isle of Wight. He died about 1897 in Ryde, Isle of Wight.

Henry HAYLES and Sarah MILES were married on 6 Mar 1858 in Newchurch, Ryde, Isle of Wight. Both Henry and Sarah made their mark. Henry was a labourer and he lived at Green Lane, Newchurch whilst Sarah came rom Knighton. Both fathers, Isaac Hayles and Jeremiah Miles, were labourers. The witneses were William and Sarah Hayles, Henry's brother and sister-in-law. They lived in 3 New Road, Newchurch, Isle of Wight in 1861. Henry and Sarah lived with Sarah's illegitimate daughter Emma Jane Miles (b.1857 Newport; enumerated as HAYLES) and their daughter Ellen as well as Henry's widowed brother Robert and his children William and Emily. They lived in Green Lane, Newchurch, Isle of Wight in 1871. Henry and Sarah lived with their children Ellen, Matilda, Sarah and Isaac next door to Henry's father. They lived in 1 New Barns, Apse Heath, Isle of Wight in 1881. Henry and Sarah lived with their three youngest children and a granddaughter Bertha Hayles (b.1878 Newchurch) - possibly Ellen's daughter. They lived in Whitecross, Shanklin, Isle of Wight in 1891. Henry and Sarah lived with their children George and Agnes and a grandson Bertram HAYLES (actually Bertram John Henry Munns - Sarah Ann's son). There was also a "nurse child" Bertram (? very difficult to read) aged 18 months. Sarah MILES was born about 1836 in Knighton, Isle of Wight. Henry HAYLES and Sarah MILES had the following children:

Ellen HAYLES was born about 1859 in Newchurch, Ryde, Isle of Wight. Ellen married William Boyce (b.1861 Ryde; brickmaker; lived in Apse Heath near to the brickyard) and their children were:-Annie May (1880), Rose Ellen (1882), Lilian Matilda (1884), Percy William (1887), Frederick James (1889), Kate (1892) and James (1894).

Matilda Jane HAYLES was born about 1862 in Newchurch, Ryde, Isle of Wight.

Sarah Ann HAYLES was born about 1865 in Newchurch, Ryde, Isle of Wight. Sarah Ann married John Philip Munns (carpenter) in St. Mary's Church, Brading in 1885 and in 1886 Bertram John Henry was born. In 1891 he was staying with his grandparents Henry and Sarah. Sarah Ann and John Philip had eleven more children:-Dora Eliza Sarah (1888), Ernest George Philip (1889), Elsie Estelle Olive (1891), Wallace Percival Victor (1893), Kathleen Florence Agnes (1895), Bertha May Nellie (1896), Martin Charles Albert (1898), Percy Clarence Edward (1904), Freda Ella Ormy (1905), Leslie Archie Clifford (1907) and Amy Lilian Ruby (1909).
