In 1901 he was a Gardener working at home in Carisbrooke, Isle of Wight. He died on 11 Aug 1911 in Carisbrooke, Isle of Wight. He was buried on 16 Aug 1911 in Mountjoy Cemetery, Carisbrooke, Isle of Wight. He was buried in Plot W330.

Susanna was also known as Susan. She had been born in 1788 in Weymouth, Dorset
and in 1851 was a widow at Forest Side and the keeper of a market garden. She
was christened on 21 Oct 1832 in Carisbrooke, Isle of Wight. Mary
Ann was christened on the same day as her brother James (b1830 - Weymouth, Dorset).
In 1851, James was a Gardener Labourer at his mother's market garden at Forest
Side, Carisbrooke. She died on 3 Sep 1911 in Carisbrooke, Isle of Wight.
She was buried in Mountjoy Cemetery, Carisbrooke, Isle of Wight.
