3. Jeremiah HAYLES was born on 29 Nov 1807 in Packsfield, Arreton, Isle of Wight. He was christened on 6 Dec 1807 in Arreton, Isle of Wight. Jeremiah was christened by the Curate Reverend John Pattinson. Between 1820 and 1881 he was an Agricultural Labourer in East Cowes, Isle of Wight. The Poor Law records show that Jeremiah, aged 67, was registered as a Pauper in 1875 and was receiving outdoor relief. His residence was given as Clarence Road, East Cowes. The cause of requiring relief was rheumatism. The total amount of relief given in the half year ending Michaelmas 1875 was £3 18s 0d. The Pauper District was Cowes and the Pauper Parish was Whippingham on the entry. In the half year ending Michaelmas 1882 Jeremiah received £4 1s 0d. He lived in 7 Vine Terrace, East Cowes, Isle of Wight in 1891. Jeremiah Hayles was a widower in 1891 and was living with his grandson Henry William Hayles and family. In 1891 he was a Retired General Labourer in East Cowes, Isle of Wight. He died of natural decay on 21 Feb 1892 in the Workhouse, Newport, Isle of Wight. Jeremiah's death was registered by the Workhouse Master.

Jeremiah HAYLES and Jane MORRIS were married on 30 Dec 1826 in Whippingham, Isle of Wight. The Banns were read on the 10th, 17th and 24th December 1826. Jeremiah signed his name on the Register although he spelt it Jeremah. Jane Morris left her mark as did the two witnesses Edward Hayles and Charlotte Guttridge. The officiating Minister was Reverend J. D. Ward. They lived in Shamblers, East Cowes, Isle of Wight between 1831 and 1841. They lived in Castle Street, East Cowes, Isle of Wight in 1851. They lived in 24 Clarence Road, East Cowes, Isle of Wight between 1861 and 1871. They lived in 112 Clarence Road, East Cowes, Isle of Wight in 1881. Jane MORRIS (daughter of Moses MORRIS and Jane CREW) was born on 16 Mar 1806 in Whippingham, Isle of Wight. She was christened on 6 Apr 1806 in Whippingham, Isle of Wight. In 1851 she was a Laundress in East Cowes, Isle of Wight. She died of apoplectic paralysis (30 hours) on 20 Jan 1890 in 24 Clarence Road, East Cowes, Isle of Wight. Her grandson, Henry William Hayles (born 1859), was present at the death. Jeremiah HAYLES and Jane MORRIS had the following children:
