40. Ralph DERBYSHIRE was born about 1852 in Flood Gates, Bottoms, Marple, Cheshire. In 1871 he was a Cotton Twister in Marple, Cheshire. In 1874 he was a Labourer in Newton, Hyde, Cheshire. In 1881 he was a Carter in Stockport, Cheshire. In 1891 he was a Labourer at Mull House Mill in Heaton Norris, Cheshire. In 1901 he was a Carter Carrier in Heaton Norris, Cheshire. Ralph Derbyshire was a widower in 1901 and he lived with his daughter Mary and family. It appears that all the men worked in the carter/carrier trade. Also living at the same house were Ralph's sons James and Ralph.
