In 1901 he was a Carter Carrier in Heaton Norris, Cheshire. Ralph Derbyshire was a widower in 1901 and he lived with his daughter Mary and family. It appears that all the men worked in the carter/carrier trade. Also living at the same house were Ralph's sons James and Ralph.
