74. John BURDETT was born about 1788 in Denby Dale, Yorkshire. He was christened on 2 Nov 1788 in St. Michael's Church, Emley, Yorkshire. He made a lease in 1814. "John Turton of Horbury, Yorks., yeoman, to John Beatson, Richard Willcock, William Atkinson, Thomas Ibberson, Joseph Shirt, Joseph Houlden, George Sanderson, Isaac Armitage, and Thomas Green, all of the township of Cawthorne, John Wood, junior, Joshua Wood, Joseph Wood and James Wood, of the township of Denby, John Whitworth, junior of Barnsley, John Field of Skelmanthorp, John Burditt of High Bridge Mill, and John Booth of Penistone, Yorks". The lease also involved his brothers-in-law Joshua, Joseph and James Wood.

She lived in Denby Dale, Yorkshire in 1841. She was unmarried and had a female servant. She said that she had been born at Gillfits. In 1851 she was a Milliner and Dressmaker in South Street, Huddersfield, Yorkshire. Mary, Hannah, Clementia, Eliza and two apprentices lived together. In 1861 she was a Milliner and Dressmaker in 16 Fitzwilliam Street West, Huddersfield, Yorkshire. Mary, Hannah, Clementia and Eliza lived together with one forewoman and one female servant. They were enumerated as BARDETT. In 1871 she was a Housekeeper in Kirk's Yard, Trinity Street, Huddersfield, Yorkshire. She was the head of the household and she lived with her sisters Hannah, Martha and Clementia as well as with one assistant and one servant. She died about 1873 in Huddersfield, Yorkshire.

In 1841 she was a Female Servant in Upperhead Row, Huddersfield, Yorkshire. Hannah worked for John Scott, a Linen Draper. He and his wife employed one male Linen Draper, a female Milliner and two female Straw Workers as well as Hannah. It is presumably here that she learnt her trade. In 1851 she was a Milliner and Dressmaker in South Street, Huddersfield, Yorkshire. Mary, Hannah, Clementia, Eliza and two apprentices lived together. In 1853 she was a Miliner and listed in a trade directory in South Street, Huddersfield, Yorkshire. In 1857 she was a Milliner and listed in a Trade Directory in 16 Fitzwilliam Street West, Huddersfield, Yorkshire. In 1861 she was a Milliner and Dressmaker in 16 Fitzwilliam Street West, Huddersfield, Yorkshire. Mary, Hannah, Clementia and Eliza lived together with one forewoman and one female servant. They were enumerated as BARDETT. In 1871 she was a Milliner in Kirk's Yard, Trinity Street, Huddersfield, Yorkshire. Hannah had her sisters living with her in 1871. Mary was her housekeeper. Clementia was a dressmaker and Mary Wood was an Assistant Dressmaker. The general domestic servant was Mary Milnes. Mary Wood registered the deaths of all the sisters. She died of heart disease and dropsy on 26 Feb 1886 in Brook Street, Dalton, Huddersfield, Yorkshire.

She lived with her sisters Mary, Hannah and Clementia as well as one assistant and one servant. In 1871 she was an unemployed person in Kirk's Yard, Trinity Street, Huddersfield, Yorkshire. She lived with her sisters. She died of congestion of the lungs on 27 Apr 1886 in Brook Street, Dalton, Huddersfield, Yorkshire.
