2. Samuel BURDETT was born on 14 Dec 1660 in Denby, Yorkshire. He may have become a Quaker. He was christened on 22 Dec 1660 in St John the Baptist Church, Penistone,Yorkshire. Before 1686 he was a Clothier in Denby, Yorkshire. He signed a will on 6 Sep 1725 in Denby, Yorkshire. Samuel made his will on 6th September 1725. This was the year that his son, Matthew, died. Samuel catered for his wife and then, on her death, everything was to go to his son George. He left £15 to his sons John and James and £5 to Tobias. There is some doubt as to whether Tobias or George was the eldest son.
He died about 1732 in Denby, Yorkshire. He was buried on 25 Sep 1732 in St. John the Evangelist Church, Denby, Yorkshire.

Samuel BURDETT and Martha UNKNOWN were married before 1686. Martha UNKNOWN was buried on 8 Jun 1739 in St. John the Evangelist Church, Denby, Yorkshire. She died about 1739 in Denby, Yorkshire. Mary Ann was a Quaker of High Flatts. Samuel BURDETT and Martha UNKNOWN had the following children:

10	v.	Hannah BURDETT was christened on 8 May 1699 in St John the Baptist Church, Penistone,Yorkshire. She was born about 1699 in Denby, Yorkshire.
11	vi.	John BURDETT was christened on 18 Jun 1704 in St John the Baptist Church, Penistone,Yorkshire. He was born about 1704 in Denby, Yorkshire.
12	vii.	James BURDETT was born about 1707 in Denby, Yorkshire. He was christened on 13 Jul 1707 in St John the Baptist Church, Penistone,Yorkshire.
