127. Emor BURDET
was born about 1611. He was christened on 12 Dec 1611 in Cawthorne,
Yorkshire. He died about 1678. Emor was baptised on the
day his own father was buried. He was assessed in the Lay Subsidy of Cawthorne
at 1s in 1663. In the Hearth Tax of 1672 he had a home with three fireplaces.
In the freehold book of the Wapentake of Staincross he was listed as "Freeholder
- £15".
Emor BURDET and Unknown UNKNOWN were married.

He was christened on 15 Sep 1650 in St. John's Church, Penistone, Yorkshire.
This was probably the same Matthew of Nether Denby who refused to take the Oath
of Allegiance and was imprisoned in 1682. He was in prison for over two years
before he finally took the oath and was released. He was convicted "upon
a Premunire" (that is he challenged the supremacy of the Crown) and it was
recorded at Barnsley in October 1682. |
