41. Francis BURDET was born about 1548. He sold lands in in 1575. The Yorkshire Feet of Fines record shows that "Francis Burdett als. Burdhede, esq. sold to Henry Burdett als. Burdhede, esq., and Richard Burdett als. Burdhede, gent., his son and heir apparent, the Manors of Holande and Little Bretton and 20 messuages with lands in the same and in Darton, Comberworth, Maplewell, Dyrker, Sandall, Barnesley, Kexfurthill, Penyston, Clayton, and Denby." He bought land in 1577. The Yorkshire Feet of Fines records that "Robert Hepworthe sold to Francis Burdett and Elizabeth his wife, a Messuage and a cottage with lands in Over Comberworthe and Nether Comberworthe." He sold lands in 1579. The Yorkshire Feet of Fines records that he sold several lots of land.
"Francis Burdett, esq.sold to Ralph Beiston, esq., and Ann his wife, 2 messuages and 2 cottages with lands in Darton and Maplewell."
"Francis Burdett, esq.sold to William Rockley and Jane his wife, the Manor of Burthwait and 2 messuages and 2 cottages with lands in Kexburghe and Darton."
He also bought land.
"Peter Hawkesworth sold to Francis Burdett, gent., and William Percye,3 messuages with lands in Clayton in the parish of Highe Hooland."
He sold land between 1586 and 1592. The Yorkshire Feet of Fines records that in 1586 "Francis Burdett and Edmund Scorer sold to George Woodrove, esq., and Francis Woodrove, gent. a Messuage and a cottage with lands in Kexborowe als. Kexburgh."
In 1587 "Francis Burdett, gent. sold to Richard Hondley, 2 messuages with lands in Kexburge als. Kexburghe, Darton, and Maplewell."
In 1590 "Francis Burdett, gent. sold to Robert Beiston, gent., and Brian Beiston, a Messuage with lands in Darton."
In 1592 "Francis Burdett sold to Thomas Whitley and Agnes his wife, 2 messuages with lands in Clayton."

He bought and sold land between 1593 and 1595. The Yorkshire Feet of Fines records that in 1593 "Richard Burdett, gent. sold to Ralph Burdett, gent., and Barbara his wife, Almerus Burdett, gent., and George Burdett, gent. a Messuage with lands in Clayton."
There was also a problem with land in Cawthorne and "Ann Robinson, Widow sold to William Micklethwait and Mary his wife, a Messuage with land in Cawthorne. A warrant against Francis Burdett, gent., and his heirs."
In 1595 "Richard Mossley sold to Francis Burdett, esq. a Messuage with lands in Shelley." and " Francis Burdett, gent. sold to Francis Woderowe, esq. a Messuage with lands in Cawthorne and Howlandeswayne." and in the same year "Francis Burdett, esq. sold to James Haighe and Hugh Wade and Thomasina his wife, a Messuage with lands in Billingley, Millnehouse, and Darfeild."

He died about 1596.
