a General Labourer on Estate in Bagden, Scissett, Yorkshire. Family
sources say that he worked as a Gamekeeper. Three of their sons served in World
War 1 and his son, Fred, was killed at Ypres in 1915. He died about 1922.
Ben, his wife Eliza and one son, John, are all buried in the same grave at Upper
