125. John HIRST
was born about 1838 in Upper Denby, Yorkshire. In 1861 he was a
Stone Mason in Skelmanthorpe, Yorkshire. About 1866 he was a Labourer
in Upper Denby, Yorkshire. Between 1881 and 1891 he was a Quarry
Man in Upper Denby, Yorkshire. In 1901 he was a Stone Hewer Quarry
Man in Upper Denby, Yorkshire.
John HIRST and Caroline TAYLOR were
married about 1860. They lived in High Bridge, Skelmanthorpe, Yorkshire
in 1861. Nanny Taylor, a widow aged seventy, was the head of the
household. She was a bleacher. Her unmarried daughter, Mary aged 25, was a confectioner
and her married daughter, enumerated as CARROLINE, and her husband John Hirst
lived in the same house with their daughter Mary. Another grandson, Henry Taylor
aged 7 born Denby, also lived there too. Caroline TAYLOR
was born about 1837 in Huddersfield, Yorkshire. She died about 1865
in Denby, Yorkshire. John HIRST and Caroline TAYLOR had the following

in Skelmanthorpe, Yorkshire. She was christened on 20 Aug 1861 in
St. John's Church, Denby, Yorkshire. On the baptismal register her
parents were recorded as John and Caroline and John was recorded as a delver
from Scissett. A later entry shows that she was born on 15 March 1866, christened
on 17 December 1876, the daughter of John and Mary Ann! This was the same date
as the christening of her half siblings Ashley and Alice. Was she re-christened
(not technically possible)? Her recorded birth date was also incorrect. In 1881
she was a Weaver in Upper Denby, Yorkshire. |
