80. Benjamin (Ben) FIRTH was born on 5 Nov 1850 in Denby, Yorkshire. He was christened on 12 Jan 1851 in St. John's Church, Denby, Yorkshire. In 1871 he was a Mill Labourer in Denby, Yorkshire. Between 1878 and 1884 he was a Weaver in Denby, Yorkshire. In 1891 he was a Weaver in Denby Dale, Yorkshire. In 1901 he was a General Labourer on Estate in Bagden, Scissett, Yorkshire. Family sources say that he worked as a Gamekeeper. Three of their sons served in World War 1 and his son, Fred, was killed at Ypres in 1915. He died about 1922. Ben, his wife Eliza and one son, John, are all buried in the same grave at Upper Denby.
