2. James BARRACLOUGH was born about 1730 in Denby, Yorkshire. In 1799 he was an Innkeeper in Denby, Yorkshire. The Baptismal Record for his granddaughter Ann Firth states his occupation " Ann - daughter of Jonathan Firth, who was the son of John Firth of Lower Cumberworth. Born the 7th September last by Elizabeth his wife, who was the daughter of James Barraclough, Innkeeper of this town, and late of Wooldale."

James BARRACLOUGH and Ann HAIGH were married on 31 Mar 1755 in St. John's Church, Penistone, Yorkshire. The record is difficult to read. The abbreviations Jas/Jos as well as the problem with Haigh and Harrifs (the double ss being regularly written like fs) makes this very difficult. Some children may have been attributed to the wrong brother. Ann HAIGH was born about 1734 in Penistone, Yorkshire. James BARRACLOUGH and Ann HAIGH had the following children:
