18. James BARRACLOUGH was born on 31 Mar 1797 in Denby, Yorkshire. He was christened on 14 Apr 1797 in St. John's Church, Denby, Yorkshire. Between 1841 and 1861 he was a Blacksmith in Lower Denby, Yorkshire. He was buried on 1 Mar 1876 in St. John's Church, Denby, Yorkshire. He died about 1876 in Denby, Yorkshire.

James BARRACLOUGH and Ann TURTON were married on 1 Jan 1822 in St. John's Church, Penistone, Yorkshire. Before her marriage Ann had had a son. John Turton was born on 29 January 1820 and christened on 5 November 1820 in Denby Church. James and Ann were both "of this parish" and the marriage was by Banns. After their marriage Ann's son was known as John Barraclough and brought up as the eldest child in the family. Ann TURTON was born about 1799 in Denby, Yorkshire. Ann came from a medical family. Her grandfather was John Turton, a Surgeon, of Upper Denby. John and his wife Mary had six children; Thomas (1756-1800, a Surgeon); George (d.1814, a Surgeon); Sarah (b.1761); Joseph William John (the Denby doctor); Mary (b.1767) and Dinah (b.1769). Ann was the daughter of Joseph William John and Sarah Turton. They had five children; Elizabeth (b.1799); Mary Ann (b.1800); Joseph (d.1828); Thomas (1794-1868, Denby Surgeon) and Ann (b.1799).
